PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

"Tkuma" Institute has experience in organization and conduction of educational events for school and university students, school teachers. In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, regional institutes of advanced teacher training, "Tkuma" Institute organized special system of seminars for improvement of teachers' skills.

"Tkuma" Institute has unique experience in creating textbooks. School History textbooks created by "Tkuma" Institute won All-Ukrainian State Contests and were released in hundreds of thousands of copies.

"Tkuma" Institute effectively cooperates with regional office of Junior Academy of Sciences. On the base of "Tkuma" Institute winter and summer sessions of JAS are conducted. During this events school students have an opportunity to work with the Holocaust museum holdings, consult the Institute and Museum research associates and meet famous Ukrainian and foreign scholars.

During July 17–25, 2016 Univ (Lviv region) hosted the 11th International Youth Seminar “The Ark” for Ukrainian, Polish, Crimean Tatar and Jewish youth. This traditional youth forum was organized by Consulate General of Poland in Lviv, “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies, Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU), NGO “Crimea SOS” and Hnat Khotkevych City Palace of Culture. As in previous years, the seminar took place within the precincts of the Holy Assumption Univ Lavra – a symbolic place for the Ukrainian, Polish and Jewish peoples, where during the Second World War Greek Catholic clergy rescued Jewish children.

On July 7, 2016 “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum in cooperation with Dnipro Regional Institute of Advanced Teacher Training conducted regular educational seminar for History teachers. Along with the guided tour in around the Holocaust Museum, conducted by Dr. Iegor Vradiy, teachers joined the interactive session. Iryna Piskarova, “Tkuma” Institute Educational Programs Coordinator, presented new textbook on the history of the Middle Ages by Dr. Igor Shchupak and described the features of the use of visual sources in history lessons.

On June 21–25 Lutsk hosted summer workshop conducted by “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies. The event was organized by Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”, Ukrainian National Memory Institute, Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University, I. Krypyakevych Institute of Ukrainian Studies of NASU. History teachers from all over Ukraine became the participants of the summer workshop.

On June 7, 2016 Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” welcomed pupils of 6-7 forms from Novoivanivka secondary school. The guided tour was conducted by Valentyn Rybalka, the Holocaust Museum Research Associate.

On June 2, 2016 Dilfuza Hlushchenko and Dr. Denys Shatalov, “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum Research Associates, participates in the seminar organized by Mykolayiv Regional Institute of Advanced Teacher Training under the support of “Tkuma” Institute.
