PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

"Tkuma" Institute has experience in organization and conduction of educational events for school and university students, school teachers. In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, regional institutes of advanced teacher training, "Tkuma" Institute organized special system of seminars for improvement of teachers' skills.

"Tkuma" Institute has unique experience in creating textbooks. School History textbooks created by "Tkuma" Institute won All-Ukrainian State Contests and were released in hundreds of thousands of copies.

"Tkuma" Institute effectively cooperates with regional office of Junior Academy of Sciences. On the base of "Tkuma" Institute winter and summer sessions of JAS are conducted. During this events school students have an opportunity to work with the Holocaust museum holdings, consult the Institute and Museum research associates and meet famous Ukrainian and foreign scholars.

On February 23, 2016 Iryna Piskariova, “Tkuma” Institute Educational Programs Coordinator, and Lyudmyla Sandul, Research Associate, went to Kyslyanka village, where they held several educational events.

On February 26-28, 2016 Dnipropetrovsk hosted “Dnipro Open 2016” Debate Tournament carries out by “New Vision” NGO in partnership with “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies since 2019.

The project is designed for pupils and students and strengthens democratic values through interaction, collaboration and solving social problems. Traditionally the topics of Dnipropetrovsk open tournaments are associated with different aspects of democracy and human rights; such knowledge is certainly very important for every citizen. Within the project participants got acquainted with the international debate formats, improved their knowledge of democratic values, human rights and freedoms and learned how to interact effectively through the debate.

On February 22, 2016 Iryna RadchenkoandMaryna Strilchuk, “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” Research Associated, visited Dnipropetrovsk Lyceum of Information Technologies and conducted educational mobile exhibitions. Within the “History Week” at school, researchers presented mobile exhibitions and told the pupils about the Ukrainian korenizatsiya and the problem of collaboration during the Second World War.

On February 16, 2016 secondary school # 134 of Dnipropetrovsk welcomed educational mobile exhibitions conducted by Iryna Piskariova, “Tkuma” Institute Educational Programs Coordinator, and  Iryna Radchenko, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” Research Associate.

On February 5–6, 2016 Regional Stage of All-Ukrainian Contest and Defense of research works by pupils – members of Dnipropetrovsk department of Junior Academy of Sciences, “History” section, was conducted. Traditionally the defense was conducted on the base of O. Honchar Dnipropetrovsk National University. “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies has been the partner in the Contest for already two years.
