PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

"Tkuma" Institute has experience in organization and conduction of educational events for school and university students, school teachers. In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, regional institutes of advanced teacher training, "Tkuma" Institute organized special system of seminars for improvement of teachers' skills.

"Tkuma" Institute has unique experience in creating textbooks. School History textbooks created by "Tkuma" Institute won All-Ukrainian State Contests and were released in hundreds of thousands of copies.

"Tkuma" Institute effectively cooperates with regional office of Junior Academy of Sciences. On the base of "Tkuma" Institute winter and summer sessions of JAS are conducted. During this events school students have an opportunity to work with the Holocaust museum holdings, consult the Institute and Museum research associates and meet famous Ukrainian and foreign scholars.

On September 7, 2016 “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum welcomed history teachers from Dnipro region. During the guided tour through the Museum exhibition conducted by Iryna Radchenko, Research Associate, focused on the key moments in Jewish history, Ukrainian-Jewish relations and the Holocaust.

On August 5-15, 2016 in Warsaw (Poland) International Educational Summer Camp for Ukrainian Jewish Youth was conducted. The retreat was organized by “Drzewo Oliwne” Foundation, “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”.

During August 23-28, 2016 in Odesa Youth Summer Forum organized by “Hillel” International Jewish Student Organization was conducted. This year event gathered more than 100 students from Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and Israel. Organizers prepared very rich and interesting program that included educational events, master classes, intellectual games, etc. Traditionally “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum participated in development of educational part of the summer forum.

On August 17, 2016 Dnipro Regional Institute of Advanced Teacher Training organized online August meeting for heads of methodological associations of teachers of history, law and social sciences. The main purpose of the webinar was the preparation to the new school year and the improvement of methodological support in teaching social sciences in accordance with the objectives of modern education system established by the regulations of the Ministry of Education Science of Ukraine. During the webinar Dr. Igor Shchupak, “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum Director, described the changes in the history curriculum in the new school year.

July 29 – August 19, 2016 in Zaporizhzhya region youth summer camp was organized and conducted by Zaporizhzhya Jewish Community Center “Mazal Tov”.

Traditionally “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum participated in organization of educational part of the summer camp activities. On August 15-16,Tetiana Selyutina and Maryna Strilchuk, “Tkuma” Institute research associates, conducted interactive sessions for children of different age group.
