PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

"Tkuma" Institute has experience in organization and conduction of educational events for school and university students, school teachers. In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, regional institutes of advanced teacher training, "Tkuma" Institute organized special system of seminars for improvement of teachers' skills.

"Tkuma" Institute has unique experience in creating textbooks. School History textbooks created by "Tkuma" Institute won All-Ukrainian State Contests and were released in hundreds of thousands of copies.

"Tkuma" Institute effectively cooperates with regional office of Junior Academy of Sciences. On the base of "Tkuma" Institute winter and summer sessions of JAS are conducted. During this events school students have an opportunity to work with the Holocaust museum holdings, consult the Institute and Museum research associates and meet famous Ukrainian and foreign scholars.

On January 25, 2017 Iryna Piskariova, Iryna Radchenko and Vladyslav Bazylevskyi, “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum employees, together with participants of International Educational Seminar visited Petrykivka secondary school. “Tkuma” Institute educators conducted lesson for students of the 10th grade using mobile educational exhibitions dedicated to the Holocaust, heroism of Righteous Among the Nations and theoretical aspects of the crime of Genocide. Students actively participated in the discussion of these topics, showing particular interested to issues related to the teaching of the Holocaust in other countries.

During January 24–26, 2017 “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” hosted educational Seminar “Educational Programs in Museum Space (Exchange of International Experience in Teaching Holocaust). The seminar gathered representatives of Jewish Museum Berlin, Museum “Topography of Terror”, “House of Wannsee Conference” (Germany), National Museum of History of Ukraine in World War II, Lviv National Art Gallery named after Voznytsky, National Museum of History of Ukraine, Dnipro Art Museum.

On January 20-22, 2017 Kyiv hosted all-Ukrainian Scholarly and Practical Seminar for history teachers Historical Narrative and the Methods of Oral History in Teaching World War II and the Holocaust History, organized by “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum under support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

On January 19-20, 2017 Kyiv hosted All-Ukrainian seminar for history teachers organized by “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum and dedicated to International Holocaust Remembrance day.

On December 12-13, 2016 Vinnytsya hosted All-Ukrainian Scholarly and Practical Seminar for History teachers “Teaching World War II and the Holocaust History at School: Cooperation of Teacher and Archivist”, organized by “Tkuma” Institute, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” in collaboration with State Archive of Vinnytsya Region and Vinnytsya Academy of Continuous Education.
