PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

"Tkuma" Institute has experience in organization and conduction of educational events for school and university students, school teachers. In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, regional institutes of advanced teacher training, "Tkuma" Institute organized special system of seminars for improvement of teachers' skills.

"Tkuma" Institute has unique experience in creating textbooks. School History textbooks created by "Tkuma" Institute won All-Ukrainian State Contests and were released in hundreds of thousands of copies.

"Tkuma" Institute effectively cooperates with regional office of Junior Academy of Sciences. On the base of "Tkuma" Institute winter and summer sessions of JAS are conducted. During this events school students have an opportunity to work with the Holocaust museum holdings, consult the Institute and Museum research associates and meet famous Ukrainian and foreign scholars.

On December 13, 2015 on the base of “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies winter session for pupils-participants of Dnipropetrovsk department of Junior Academy of Sciences was conducted.

Young researchers were welcomed by Dr Svitlana Kayuk, curator of the department of history of JAS, associate professor of Department of History of Ukraine of O. Honchar Dnipropetrovsk National University; Natalya Tahlo, director of the municipal extracurricular educational institution “Junior Academy of Sciences”, Dr Igor Shchupak, “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” director.

On December 13, 2015 “Tkuma” Institute conducted pedagogical seminar for history teachers who are supervising students of Dnipropetrovsk department of Junior Academy of Science.

Teaching staff got acquainted with innovative approaches to teaching history in secondary school introduced by Dr Igor Shchupak, “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” director. He also presented a new textbook on the history of the Middle Ages for the 7th grade pupils, which caused great interest among teachers.

On December 9, 2015 Iryna Piskariova and Tetyana Selyutina, “Tkuma” Institute research associates, conducted mobile exhibitions for schools of Ovruch, Zhytomyr region.

“Tkuma” Institute staff told pupils about educational programs of the Holocaust Museum and presented educational mobile exhibitions dedicated to the Holocaust in Ukraine and Righteous among the Nations.

On December 10, 2015 the city of Artemivsk (Donetsk region) hosted Open Student Forum “The Document that has Survived for Centuries. History, Law, Modernity” (dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the adoption of the Magna Carta). The Forum was organized by local government (Artemivsk City Council), Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy and Artemivsk Multidisciplinary Lyceum # 11. “Tkuma” Institute researchers Yehor Vradiy and Valentyn Rybalka were invited to participate in the event.

On November 24-25, 2015 Sumy hosted All-Ukrainian Pedagogical seminar for History teachers and methodologists from different regions of Ukraine. The title of the seminar was "Modern Multimedia Technologies in Teaching Wold War II and the Holocaust History". The seminar was held due to financial support of Claims Conference, Joint, and the Dutch Fund, and under support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
