PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

This year, the camp for the Jewish youth of Ukraine became a unique event dedicated to the study of oneself and one's Jewishness. After the grand opening, during which participants were welcomed by Hillel CASE Regional Director Osik Axelrud, the girls and boys immersed themselves in an intense program that began with a two-day training session from the Israel Trauma Coalition, during which they learned important tools for self-help and supporting others in times of crisis.

The first evening provided a great opportunity to get to know each other: the warm atmosphere and communication brought the participants together, and the language theme united Ukrainian, Yiddish and Hebrew, demonstrating the depth of our roots.
Great attention was paid to the memory of Jewish cultural figures and understanding of how creativity helps people in times of crisis. The participants had the opportunity to talk with the Director of “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies Igor Shchupak. After an incredibly deep and rich lesson on the history of genocides, the participants left with a lot of thoughts and reflections and discussed this topic more than once during breaks and free time. A colorful themed fair was a great end to this eventful day!
The following days of the camp were full of traditions and inspiration: creative workshops, Kabbalat Shabbat, guitar songs, skits from the participants and bonfires became symbols of the true unity and friendship we created together.
