PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

What were interethnic and interreligious relations in history? How do they affect the modern world? Is it possible to discuss complex issues of history without prejudice? These are the topics discussed during the next “historical webinar” organized by “Tkuma” Institute and “Orion” Publishing House on March 19.

The speakers of the event were Dr. Yehor Vradii, Deputy Director of “Tkuma” Institute, Deputy Director for Scientific Work of Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”, Junior Research Fellow of the M. Hayov Center for Contemporary History of the Ukrainian Catholic University, as well as Dr. Igor Shchupak, Director of “Tkuma” Institute, Head of the Orion History Textbook Authoring Team.

The webinar participants discussed the relationships between representatives of different nationalities and confessions in different historical periods. Particular attention was paid to the challenges associated with covering interfaith issues in history textbooks. The topics touched upon were the coexistence of Orthodox and Catholics, Protestants and Jews, and the interaction of different ethnic groups within empires and nation-states.

The webinar broadcast recording can be viewed by the link.

We thank everyone who joined the webinar, and we invite you to further discussions within the framework of our educational events!
