On July 20-29, 2016 United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM) and Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies (hereinafter - the Center) hosted Summer Seminar for postgraduate students on “The Holocaust in the Soviet Union”. The seminar gathered postgraduate students and undergraduates (the last year of training) from Israel, Canada, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Germany, Russia, USA, Hungary and Ukraine who presented their thesis projects on various aspects of the Holocaust on the territory of the USSR. Ukraine was presented by Iryna Radchenko, “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” Research Associate, postgraduate student of World History Department of Dnipro National University.

In July 20, 2016 Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” and “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies welcomed the group of public activists, journalists and bloggers from Moscow, Novosibirsk, Bryansk and Kazan. The meeting started with the guided tour through the Museum exhibition conducted by Research Associate Vladyslav Bazylevsky. Visitors reviewed not only halls dedicated to the culture and history of Jewish people but also new exhibitions “Tragedies of the 20th c.” devoted to Euromaidan, Revolution of Dignity, ATO and Russian aggression against Ukraine. The guests were impressed by the quality of museum exhibitions and the level of the Museum development.

June 30 and July 1, 2016 within the framework of preparations for the project dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Babyn Yar tragedy, working meeting of UJE (Ukrainian Jewish Encounter) and members of the organizing committee responsible for different areas of program of large-scale events in September 2016 was conducted.

June 30 and July 1, 2016 Dnipro hosted seminar “Implementation of European Standards for National Minorities in Ukraine” for state officials organized by Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Ukraine, Assembly of Nationalities of Ukraine, and the Jewish Foundation of Ukraine. Within the framework of the seminar participants visited Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”. The guided tour was conducted by Dr. Iegor Vradiy, Research Associate. He focused on the history of international relations (including Ukrainian-Jewish) in the 20th c. in particular, during World War II and the Holocaust.
