PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

"Tkuma" Institute has experience in organization and conduction of educational events for school and university students, school teachers. In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, regional institutes of advanced teacher training, "Tkuma" Institute organized special system of seminars for improvement of teachers' skills.

"Tkuma" Institute has unique experience in creating textbooks. School History textbooks created by "Tkuma" Institute won All-Ukrainian State Contests and were released in hundreds of thousands of copies.

"Tkuma" Institute effectively cooperates with regional office of Junior Academy of Sciences. On the base of "Tkuma" Institute winter and summer sessions of JAS are conducted. During this events school students have an opportunity to work with the Holocaust museum holdings, consult the Institute and Museum research associates and meet famous Ukrainian and foreign scholars.

On February 6-7, the final of the second (regional) stage of the all-Ukrainian competition-defense of research works of students of the Dnipro branch of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the discipline “History” took place on the basis of the Dnipro Academy of Continuing Education. Dr. Olena Ishchenko (Section “Historical Local Lore”) and Dr. Igor Shchupak (Section “World History”) were in jury from “Tkuma” Institute. Due to the quarantine, the results were announced online; however, the jury members worked in the auditoriums.

On February 3, Vladyslav Bazylevsky and Valentyn Rybalka, researchers of “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”, visited Gymnasium #3 of the Dnipro City Council, where they conducted educational lesson for 11th-graders on the Holocaust history. The lessons were dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day and were part of the Memory Marathons project.

On January 27-28, All-Ukrainian Scientific and Pedagogical Seminar organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” and “Tkuma” Institute was held.

On January 27, the historic webinar “Holocaust: History and Memory” was organized with the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust (Auschwitz, Poland) and the “Orion” Publishing House. The event was dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Speakers were Anna Stanczyk, Head of Education Projects at the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust (Auschwitz, Poland), Dr. Yehor Vradii, Dr. Igor Shchupak.

On January 13, a historical webinar for teachers was held. It was organized by “Tkuma” Institute and “Orion” Publishing House. The topic of the educational event is “Challenges of distance learning: how to overcome the distance between teacher and student”.
