PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

"Tkuma" Institute has experience in organization and conduction of educational events for school and university students, school teachers. In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, regional institutes of advanced teacher training, "Tkuma" Institute organized special system of seminars for improvement of teachers' skills.

"Tkuma" Institute has unique experience in creating textbooks. School History textbooks created by "Tkuma" Institute won All-Ukrainian State Contests and were released in hundreds of thousands of copies.

"Tkuma" Institute effectively cooperates with regional office of Junior Academy of Sciences. On the base of "Tkuma" Institute winter and summer sessions of JAS are conducted. During this events school students have an opportunity to work with the Holocaust museum holdings, consult the Institute and Museum research associates and meet famous Ukrainian and foreign scholars.

On December 23, another historical webinar was organized by “Tkuma” Institute and “Orion” Publishing House. The topic of the new educational event is “New history textbooks: how to work with online exercises.”

On December 9, the historical webinar “Portrait of a historian: Vladyslav Hrynevych” was organized and held by “Tkuma” Institute, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” and “Orion” Publishing House.

On December 9 in terms of joint project of “Tkuma” Institute and Yad Vashem “Holocaust studies in Ukraine for the formation the atmosphere of tolerance” together with the NGO “New Vision” during the round table the new educational program “History of the Holocaust and other genocides lessons studies for development of personal values of children by means of debate” was presented.

Olena Zima, Dnipro, executive director of the NGO “New Vision”, Tetyana Remah, Ph.D., Kyiv, Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Oleksandr Shangin, Dnipro, history teacher, member of the NGO “New Vision” discussed the development of this program among youth. It was mentioned that debates contribute critical thinking, effective communication skills and interaction in society.

On November 25, the historical webinar “Holodomor of the Ukrainian people: scientific discussions and remembrance of genocide” (dedicated to the Holodomor Remembrance Day) was organized by “Tkuma” Institute, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”, “Orion” Publishing House, the Ukrainian Research and Education Center for the Study of the Holodomor, Museum of Resistance to the Holodomor.

A seminar for history teachers, organized by “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” and the Dnipro Academy of Continuing Education, took place on November 18, in a webinar format and partly offline. The topic of the seminar, which was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II, was defined as “Deconstruction of ideas about World War II”.
