PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

"Tkuma" Institute has experience in organization and conduction of educational events for school and university students, school teachers. In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, regional institutes of advanced teacher training, "Tkuma" Institute organized special system of seminars for improvement of teachers' skills.

"Tkuma" Institute has unique experience in creating textbooks. School History textbooks created by "Tkuma" Institute won All-Ukrainian State Contests and were released in hundreds of thousands of copies.

"Tkuma" Institute effectively cooperates with regional office of Junior Academy of Sciences. On the base of "Tkuma" Institute winter and summer sessions of JAS are conducted. During this events school students have an opportunity to work with the Holocaust museum holdings, consult the Institute and Museum research associates and meet famous Ukrainian and foreign scholars.

On July 27–30, 2017 Vilnius (Lithuania) welcomed regular seminar for Ukrainian educators “Pearls of Yiddish Culture”. The event was organized by International Yiddish Center of World Jewish Congress in partnership with “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies.

During July 16–24, 2017 Univ (Lviv region) hosted “The Ark 2017” 12th International Youth Seminar that gathered Ukrainian, Polish, Jewish and Crimean Tatar youth. The seminar is organized by General Consulate of the Republic of Poland in Lviv, “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies, Ukrainian Catholic University, NGO “Crimea-SOS”, H. Khotkevych City Palace of Culture. Traditionally the event was held at Holy Assumption Univ Lavra (Lviv region), where during WWII Greek Catholic clerics, in particular, Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytsky, rescued Jewish children.

On July 12, 2017 regular seminar for history teachers was conducted. The event was organized by “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”, Dnipro Regional Institute of Advanced Teacher Training. The program of the event included:

During July 03–07, 2017 “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” organized and conducted Summer School for History Teachers “World War II and the Holocaust History Studies: Methodology and Practice”. The event was conducted in Lviv, Drohobych and Zhovkva and gathered history teachers from all over Ukraine.

Every year Primorsk (Zaporizhzhia region) becomes a place for rest and education for children aged 5 to 16 years. The event was organized by Jewish Community Center “Mazal Tov” (Zaporizhzhia). For 3 weeks children are attending classes in Hebrew and history, participating in a variety of activities aimed at developing leadership skills, team spirit, initiative, tolerant attitude to other people.
