PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

"Tkuma" Institute has experience in organization and conduction of educational events for school and university students, school teachers. In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, regional institutes of advanced teacher training, "Tkuma" Institute organized special system of seminars for improvement of teachers' skills.

"Tkuma" Institute has unique experience in creating textbooks. School History textbooks created by "Tkuma" Institute won All-Ukrainian State Contests and were released in hundreds of thousands of copies.

"Tkuma" Institute effectively cooperates with regional office of Junior Academy of Sciences. On the base of "Tkuma" Institute winter and summer sessions of JAS are conducted. During this events school students have an opportunity to work with the Holocaust museum holdings, consult the Institute and Museum research associates and meet famous Ukrainian and foreign scholars.

On March 2, 2017 regular educational seminar for teachers and methodologists was organized and conducted by “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”, and Dnipro Regional Institute of Advanced Teacher Training.

On February 24-26, 2017 Dnipro welcomed annual open debate tournament “Dnipro Open 2017”, carried out by NGO “New Vision” in cooperation with “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies.

During three days participants joined 20 workshops including 5 in English, 5 selective rounds, semi-final and three finals. 32 teams from different regions of Ukraine took part in the event. Within the tournament, participants were able to overcome their own doubts, fear of public speaking, to enhance self-esteem, as well as to hear comments and suggestions of adults and get their support.

On February 23, 2017 classical gymnasium “Prestige” (Rivne) welcomed meeting school of pedagogical mastery on history dedicated to the topic: “World War II and the Holocaust: Topical Historical Problems”. The educational session was held by Taras Pylypchuk, “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies multiplicator.

The session was opened by methodologist Tetiana Hreshchuk, who outlined goal, objectives and plan of the meetings. Serhii Rachynets, Principal of Rivne classical gymnasium “Prestige”, conducted presentation of educational institution as well as familiarized Rivne history teachers with the activities of teaching staff.

On February 21, 2017 “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum hosted educational session for senior students of school №89 (Dnipro). During the guided tour through the Holocaust Museum exhibition, conducted by research associate Valentyn Rybalka, the main attention was paid Ukrainian-Jewish relations during the revolution of 1917. Students learn the topic of revolution during the lessons of history, so it was particularly interesting for them to see the exhibits telling about those days.

On February 20, 2017 Lyceum of Information Technologies (Dnipro) hosted intellectual game “What? Where? When?” conducted by Dr. Igor Shchupak, for the 11th grade students.
