PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

"Tkuma" Institute has experience in organization and conduction of educational events for school and university students, school teachers. In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, regional institutes of advanced teacher training, "Tkuma" Institute organized special system of seminars for improvement of teachers' skills.

"Tkuma" Institute has unique experience in creating textbooks. School History textbooks created by "Tkuma" Institute won All-Ukrainian State Contests and were released in hundreds of thousands of copies.

"Tkuma" Institute effectively cooperates with regional office of Junior Academy of Sciences. On the base of "Tkuma" Institute winter and summer sessions of JAS are conducted. During this events school students have an opportunity to work with the Holocaust museum holdings, consult the Institute and Museum research associates and meet famous Ukrainian and foreign scholars.

On March 30-31, 2017 Annual Seminar of Jewish and Holocaust History was organized and conducted by “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” and Zaporizhzhia National University.

Strong practical component, in particular, nationwide methodological session for history teachers, became the feature of this year’s seminar. The grand opening began with a plenary session. The welcoming speeches were made by Dr. Igor Shchupak, director of “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum; Prof. Hennadii Vasylchuk, ZNU Vice Rector for scientific work and Prof. Volodymyr Milchev, Dean of the Faculty of History. Then, the plenary session was continued with reports by Prof. Volodymyr Milchev, Prof. Oleksandr Davlietov, Dr. Igor Shchupak and Dr. Roman Moldavsky.

Educational Sessions for School and University Students of Mykolaiv Region

On March 23–24, 2017 Dr. Igor Shchupak, director of “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”, conducted educational interactive sessions for school and university students of Mykolaiv region.

Mykolaiv State University hosted lecture dedicated to World War II and Holocaust and modern memory of these period. Not only students – future historians and pedagogues – but also educators took part in the event. Participants were discussion the question of historical myths and their influence on modernity.

On March 22, 2017 on the base of Mykolaiv Regional Institute of Advanced Teacher Training regional pedagogical seminar on methodology of teaching World War II and the Holocaust history was conducted by "Tkuma" Institute.

March 23, 2017 “Tkuma” Institute educators visited Kotliarevsky secondary school in Mykolaiv region. During the visit students of 11 grade joined presentation of mobile exhibition dedicated to the Holocaust in Ukraine. Educators talked to students paying special attention to to Holocaust history in comparative context as well as other genocides of the 20th с.

On March 16, 2017 “Tkuma” Institute in cooperation with Regional Institute of Advanced Teacher Training conducted regular seminar for History teachers of the region. The program of the event included guided tour through Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” exhibition conducted by Dr. Denys Shatalov.
