December 02, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” hosted presentation of two documentaries of the project “More than Crimea”, created by Ismail Gasprinsky Institute of Geostrategy. The heroes of these films devoted their lives to the struggle for the right of the Crimean Tatar people to live freely in their homeland. During the event, which gathered many guests – Muslims, Christians, Jews – the following documentaries were screened:

November 15, 2018 Kyiv hosted seminar “Holocaust: Facts, Memorialization, Lessons”, organized by the “Babyn Yar” Holocaust Memorial Center and its partners – United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and UNESCO. Dr. Iegor Vradii, “Tkuma” Institute Deputy Director for research work, and Dr. Igor Shchupak were invited to participate in the event.

On November 15, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” welcomed opening of the exhibition “For Our and Your Freedom 1968–2018”, devoted to the 50th anniversary of the dissidents’ manifestations in defense of the Prague Spring. Welcoming speeches was made by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Irzhi Havlychek, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Czech Republic Radek Matula, city mayor’s advisor and member of the board of the Dnipro Jewish community Oleh Rostovtsev, head of the Research Department of the Holocaust Museum Dr. Denys Shatalov.

During November 01-04, the International Conference “Limmud” was held in Lviv. Dr. Igor Shchupak, director of “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” and Dr. Iegor Vradii, head of the Research Department of the Holocaust Museum, participated as presenters and held several lecture sessions for participants.

On October 28, 2018 within the framework of Zaporizhzhya Book Toloka “Tkuma” Institute presented its new editions, dedicated to the history of the Second World War and the Holocaust in Ukraine and Europe. The interactive lecture-conversation “History of the Holocaust and World War II: how literature and museum exhibits overcome the anonymity of numbers” was conducted by Dr. Igor Shchupak and the head of Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” Research Department, Dr. Yehor Vradii.
Among the latest publications that were presented, there were – Yu. Slavik, “The path to Auschwitz: The Holocaust in Transcarpathia”; Oleksii Honcharenko “Holocaust on the Territory of the Reichskommissariat “Ukraine” in the national historiographical discourse (1941 – 2016); O. Kruglov, I. Shchupak, A. Umansky “Holocaust in Ukraine” Volume #2; S. Bruchfeld, P. Levine “Tell Ye Your Children” (Ukrainian translation)
During the book fest, all those interested also had an opportunity to learn more about “Tkuma” Institute publishing and educational activities.
