On June 2, Joel Lion, extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the State of Israel in Ukraine visited Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” within the frameworks of his several-day visit to Dnipro. Dr. Igor Shchupak conducted a guided tour at the Museum.

" Mr. Ambassador – not only an experienced diplomat, but also a rabbi and scientist, a professional historian, and instead of the usual guided tour we got a conversation from which I personally learned something new., for example, from the history of political parties of the first half of the twentieth century and from the Jewish tradition (the meanings of some images are on matceives) – noted Dr. Shchupak. - The guest paid special attention to the exhibition dedicated to the Jewish political movements of the early twentieth century, the fate of political repressions victims of 1930's, in particular – Levi-Yitzhak Shneerson, chief rabbi of Dnipropetrovsk; Holocaust in Ukraine (Mr. Ambassador was born in the family that survived the Holocaust)".

Mr. Joel Lion also acquainted with the scientific publications of “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum. It is pleasant, that the guest got a good impression from the scientific, educational (in particular – textbooks creation) and the museum work we carry out.
