On February 26, the second Zoom-meeting of the project “EXODUS - 2022. Testimony of Jewish refugees of the russian-Ukrainian war” was held. This project is dedicated to documenting and preserving personal testimonies of Jewish refugees about the days following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Dr. Igor Shchupak was invited to take part in the discussion.

On February 16, the MARATHON OF UNITY for Ukrainian teachers, schoolchildren, students, scientists, organized by “Tkuma” Institute was held. The event is dedicated to the Day of Unity of Ukraine. Participants of the online marathon shared their experience of helping the Armed Forces and those who need protection in such a difficult time for Ukraine.

Today – January 27 – International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Exactly this day in 1945 the Red Army liberated the prisoners of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest death camp in occupied Europe, in Auschwitz (on the territory of Poland), which became a terrible symbol of the Holocaust and Nazi crimes in World War II. It is deeply symbolic that the camp was liberated by the 1st unit of the Ukrainian Front under the command of Major Anatoly Shapiro, a Ukrainian Jew, a native of Kharkiv Oblast.
