PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On May 07, solemn events dedicated to the anniversary of World War II end and victory over Nazi Germany were held in “Menorah” Center. The holiday in honor of World War II veterans was organized by the charity foundation «Hesed Menachem» with the support of «Joint».

The official part of the event began with the national anthems of Ukraine and Israel by the Military orchestra of the interior office. Mikki Catsif, head of the board «Joint» in the region, Viacheslav Smotkin, second secretary of the embassy of Israel, director of the Israeli cultural center in Dnipro, Shmuel Kaminetzki, chief rabbi of Dnipro and the region, Raffael Heltzer, head of «Sohnut-Ukraine» office in Dnipro, Anatolii Pleskachevsky director of «Hesed Menahem», Dr. Igor Shchupak, director of «Tkuma» Institute and the Holocaust Museum warmly congratulated the veterans on this remarkable day. Oleksandr Fridkis, head of religious community affairs finished the official part with a commemorative prayer for the fallen warriors and other victims of the War.

Choir «Golden Meydelakh» performances, the vocalists of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Philharmonic named after L. Kogan, as well as participants of «Hesed Menahem» and Jewish cultural center «Solomonika» waited for guests during a concert.

«Tkuma» Institute and the Holocaust Museum organized a mobile exhibition devoted to World War II and the Holocaust history, and a presentation of scientific literature on this topic. Also on this day, the researchers have collected the memories of veterans and witnesses of the war, which will be published in the editions of «Tkuma» Institute.
