PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On January 24, discussion-meeting as part of a discussions series on historical narrative was held at the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory in Kyiv. Dr. Igor Shchupak was invited to participate in the event.

The first meeting was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of World War II end. The following topics were discussed during the meeting:

- the memory of World War II. Ukrainian version;

- Day of memory and reconciliation and Victory Day – what are the meanings of memorial events these days?

- counteracting of information calls during commemorating / honoring victims (to the 75th anniversary of World War II end).

“What are the ideas and messages about the memory of the Holocaust?? What will be celebrated in Ukraine on May 8 and 9, will they celebrate at all and how? The most important to me was the effort to have a constructive discussion, and the most important - interesting thoughts, which raised”, – Dr. Shchupak emphasized.
