February 15, 2017, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” welcomed Jacek Zur, deputy Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Ukraine. Mr. Jacek Zur is a longtime partner of “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies, one of originators of the most successful project in the field of inter-religious and inter-ethnic dialogue – “The Ark” seminar, which annually unites Ukrainian, Polish, Jewish and Crimean Tatar young people.

During the visit, the Ambassador met with Dr. Igor Shchupak, director of “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum, and together they discussed the prospects of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation in the field of historical education and dialogue on the common past. Mr. Jacek Zur also presented the latest methodological and educational materials devoted to the feat of Polish and Ukrainian rescuers of Jews during the Holocaust.

Mr. Jacek Zur visited the new permanent exhibitions of the Holocaust Museum, including the recently opened unit, dedicated to the tragedy of the Roma people in Ukraine and Moldova during World War II, and highly appreciated the work of research staff. The guided tour was conducted by the head of Research and Museum Department Dr. Iegor Vradii.
