Dniprovsky Historical Club
Dniprovsky Historical Club is another "Tkuma" Institute project conducted on the base of Museum "Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine" in cooperation with Institute of Social Studies. Historical club was created as a platform for meetings of historians and those interested in history with the aim of informal communication. Famous Ukrainian and foreign historians are invited to participate in each session of the club.
Within the framework of the project meetings with Prof. Vladyslav Hrynevych, Doctor of Political Sciences, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Leading Research Associate of the Institute of Politican and Ethnic Studies; Prof. Ivan Patrylyak, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of Department of Modern History of Ukraine, Dean of the Faculty of History of Kyiv National University, and Prof. Yaroslav Hrytsak, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of Ukrainian Catholic University, Director of Institute of Historical Research of Franko Lviv National University were conducted.
The project attracts the attention of historians, teachers, students and the intellectual elite of the city. From 50 to 300 people participate in the sessions.
During the club meetings professional historians raise urgent problems of historical memory of the Jewish and Ukrainian peoples. Its main objective is to destroy the stereotypes that hinder the successful intergration of the Jewish community as an important part of Ukrainian society.

On February 24, lecture and presentation of historian Gennady Vinogradov’s (Dnipro Humanitarian University) book was held at "Tkuma" Institute within the frameworks of Dniprovsky Historical Club. The topic of the lecture was «Jewish intellectual sentiments of the Christian Middle Ages».

On February 10, Dr. Viacheslav Likhachov’s lecture on “Yad Vashem and others: a museum reflection of the Holocaust memory” was held within the framework of Dniprovsky Historical Club in “Tkuma” Institute. During the lecture, participants talked about the Yad Vashem Memorial of Catastrophe and Heroism’s history and concept creation, the construction feature of museum exhibition and its evolution in recent years.

In November 25, “Tkuma” Institute welcomed session of Dniprovsky Historical Club, dedicated to the Holodomor Remembrance Day. Interactive lecture “The Holodomor of 1932-33 in Dnipropetrovsk Region: Unknown Pages” was conducted by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Natalia Romanets (Kryviy Rih).

On September 9, 2018 Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” hosted regular session of Dniprovsky Historical Club. Lecture and presentation “Artist and Catastrophe: Holocaust as a factor in the formation of a Jewish artist” was conducted by art critic, doctoral candidate of Northwestern University (USA) Anastasiia Simferovska.

On August 19, 2018 “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum held session of Dniprovsky Historical Club “On the Eve of the Catastrophe. Jewish Emigration from the South of the Russian Empire at the end of the 19th - early 20th c. in the literary sources”. This interactive lecture was conducted by Dr. Victor Pohromskyi, historian, author of more than 50 scholarly works on the history of international relations (Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University, Mykolaiv).
