On February 16, a group of museologists and librarians from Dnipro have visited Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” and “Tkuma” Institute. Recently, the head of the research department at “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” Dr. Iryna Radchenko, was a guest at one of the episodes of the “Alef” weekly Jewish TV program. Together with the host of the program Oleh Rostovtsev, they discussed the activities of various humanitarian organizations to rescue Jews during the Holocaust.

Yesterday, May 14, was marked as the Day of Remembrance of Ukrainians who rescued Jews during World War II. The memorial date was set by a special Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine as a sign of respect for Ukrainian rescuers, their compassion and solidarity.

We sincerely congratulate Iryna Radchenko, Researcher of “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” for successfully defending her dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences! The topic of her dissertation is ‘Models of activity of humanitarian organizations for rescuing Jews of Europe during the Holocaust (1939-1945)”.

A solemn ceremony dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day was held on January 27 at Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”. This day in 1945, the troops of the 1st Ukrainian Front liberated the prisoners of the largest death camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau, in Auschwitz, Poland, which became a terrible symbol of the Holocaust and Nazi crimes in World War II.
