PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

Ukrainian-Jewish relations, the memory of the Holocaust in Ukraine remain in the center of attention of the world community, in particular, in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war. After all, among the messages of Russian-Putin propaganda, there are well-known false theses about the “domination of Nazi ideology” in Ukraine and the “Nazi nature” of the Ukrainian government in general. Therefore, online seminars, zoom meetings organized by “Tkuma” Institute with educators, scientists, public activists from different countries raised questions about the history of the Holocaust, and the present and Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

An online conference was held on March 6 at the invitation of Katja Kolcio, Director, Allbritton Center for the Study of Public Life, Associate Professor, Wesleyan University |Middletown, CT (USA), and with the assistance of O. Bila from Dnipro. Speakers were the director of “Tkuma” Institute, Dr. Igor Shchupak, as well as Joyce Fein, Alex Kuzma, Yana Raytman. The zoom meeting was attended by more than 70 people from many US states, including New Jersey, New England, Washington, DC, New York, California, and France. Igor Shchupak spoke about the history of Ukrainian-Jewish relations in the 20th century and the Holocaust, about the “Jewish revival” in Ukraine after 1991 and Jewish studies on the Holocaust history, about the great scientific and educational work of “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies. Of course, special attention was paid to the current full-scale Russian war against Ukraine and the above-mentioned fakes of racist-Putin propaganda.
