PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On April 14-17, the seminar «Pearls of Yiddish Culture», organized by International Yiddish Center and the Sumy regional institute of postgraduate pedagogical education was held in Vilnius. Teachers of the Sumy region and scientists of «Tkuma» Institute became the participants of the educational program.

Participants of the seminar have listened to lectures on literature written in Yiddish, Jewish arts, intellectual life of «North Jerusalem» (as Vilnius called). Dr. Mordehay Yushkovsky (about secrets of Jewish humor), Dr. William Gradinskayte, Dr. Larry Lempert lectures caused a great interest among the participants. Sincere emotions are united all the seminar participants during the concert «Yiddish songs, songs of the Jewish soul».

Excursion part of the program was also rich. Walk in Jewish Vilnius, as well as a visit to the forest in Ponary, where mass shootings of Jews took place during the Nazi occupation, was organized for Ukrainian educators.
