On May 30, 2017 museum and educational lesson for school students from Petrykivka (Dnipro region) was conducted. The event was organized by “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”.

Presentation of Collection of School Students’ Research Papers “Historical Etudes – for the Present”

“Tkuma” Institute in cooperation with Oles Honchar Dnipro National University and Junior Academy of Sciences released the third collection of school students’ research papers “Historical Etudes – for the Present” within the framework of project “Study of the Holocaust in Ukraine for the Formation of an Atmosphere of Tolerance”. Presentation took place in the premises of Dnipro Regional State Administration on May 19, 2017.

Educational Sessions for School and University Students of Mykolaiv Region
On March 23–24, 2017 Dr. Igor Shchupak, director of “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”, conducted educational interactive sessions for school and university students of Mykolaiv region.
Mykolaiv State University hosted lecture dedicated to World War II and Holocaust and modern memory of these period. Not only students – future historians and pedagogues – but also educators took part in the event. Participants were discussion the question of historical myths and their influence on modernity.

On February 24-26, 2017 Dnipro welcomed annual open debate tournament “Dnipro Open 2017”, carried out by NGO “New Vision” in cooperation with “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies.
During three days participants joined 20 workshops including 5 in English, 5 selective rounds, semi-final and three finals. 32 teams from different regions of Ukraine took part in the event. Within the tournament, participants were able to overcome their own doubts, fear of public speaking, to enhance self-esteem, as well as to hear comments and suggestions of adults and get their support.

On February 21, 2017 “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum hosted educational session for senior students of school №89 (Dnipro). During the guided tour through the Holocaust Museum exhibition, conducted by research associate Valentyn Rybalka, the main attention was paid Ukrainian-Jewish relations during the revolution of 1917. Students learn the topic of revolution during the lessons of history, so it was particularly interesting for them to see the exhibits telling about those days.
