PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On January 30, educational lessons dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day у was held at secondary № 128 (Dnipro). Iryna Piskarova, “Tkuma” Institute head of educational department and researcher Dr. Olena Ishchenko held an interactive lecture for high school students.

On January 24, traditional “Christmas readings” for high school students was held at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. The conference participants presented the results of their own research activities in various fields of knowledge: linguistics and sociology, mathematics and computer science, geography and literature, philosophy and, of course, history. After a short report, each participant received a series of questions from peers, teachers, scientists, to find out the level of the topic mastery, as well as the beginner's contribution to solving his or her chosen research problem. The abstracts were previously published in the “Nartex” collection.

On December 26, Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine historical department students together with Svitlana Kaiuk, our longtime friend and partner visited Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”. An interesting and informative program waited for the students:

On December 19, Dr. Igor Shchupak held a lecture on World War II and the Holocaust history for the students of Dnipropetrovsk Medical Academy. The features of the Holocaust in Ukraine, human behavior during the war and the feat of the Righteous among the Nations, contemporary problems of Ukraine, the war in the east and modern propaganda were discussed during the interactive lecture-discussion. Particular attention was paid to the problems of World War II and the Holocaust history memorialization, in particular, analysis of the Soviet-Russian model of memory on “the Great Patriotic War”.

On December 08, winter session for students-members of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the section “History” was held at “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”.
