PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On March 15, 2018 “Tkuma” Institute educators organized educational sessions on the Holocaust history for students of Dnipro Medical Academy. Research Associates Denys Shatalov and Mykola Bulanyi told future doctors about the tragedy of the Holocaust in Ukraine and the peculiarities of the “final solution of the Jewish question” in Dnipropetrovsk occupied by Nazis. Participants also talked about the problem of moral choice during World War II, in particular, about the attitude of different categories of the population towards the extermination of Jews: from the collaborators and “bystanders” to the Righteous among the Nations.

Iryna Piskarova, “Tkuma” Institute Educational Programs Coordinator, told students about the history of her own family during the war and emphasized the importance of preserving the family memory. In addition, educational projects of “Tkuma” Institute for youth were presented as well as the annual contest “Lessons of War and Holocaust – Lessons of Tolerance” for school students and teachers, students and post-graduates.
