During September 24–29, 2016 Kyiv hosted International project dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Babyn Yar tragedy. Large-scale events were organized by Ukrainian Jewish Encounter in cooperation with “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”, Holocaust Studies in Ukraine Project from Promoting Tolerance and other educational and research institutions from around the world.

On September 29, 2016 Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” hosted Commemoration Ceremony dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Babyn Yar tragedy. The event was conducted by Dilfuza Hlushchenko, “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum Research Associate, gathered pupils from Zaporizhzhya, leaders and activists of the Jewish community of Dnipro, and general public.

On September 23, 2016 presentation of educational manuals was conducted at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The event was opened by Rayisa Yevtushenko, Chief Specialist of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. She noted that according to the President’s order methodological instruments for teaching Babyn Yar tragedy had been created. Methodological materials, programs, educational manuals and other materials were created and are now widely used in many schools and other educational institutions of Ukraine. “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies led by Dr. Igor Shchupak played key role in this.

Opening of the International Youth Forum that gathered representatives from different countries of Europe and Northern America was held within the framework of non-governmental program to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Babyn Yar tragedy organized by Ukrainian Jewish Encounter (Canada).
The opening was organized at “Ukrainskyi Dim” in Kyiv. The program was presented by its head Dr. Igor Shchupak, “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum director, psychologist Liudmyla Kozina and Dr. Iegor Vradii, who presented the author of the concept of the whole commemorative project Prof. Paul Robert Magocsi (Canada). Along with youth program this commemorative project, created by Paul Robert Magocsi and Adrian Karatnycky, included public symposium, program on creation of memorial space and great concert.
