PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On April 04-05, 2017 Kropyvnytsky hosted pedagogical seminars and interactive sessions for teachers and school students dedicated to the history of World War II and the Holocaust, organized by “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”.

In cooperation with Kropyvnytsky Regional Institute of Advanced Teacher Training “Tkuma” Institute educators conducted seminars for history teachers from Kirovohrad region, the city of Kropyvnytsky and educators of Kropyvnytsky district. Dr. Igor Shchupak, “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum director, held lecture-discussions on World War II and the Holocaust history and payed particular attention to the issues of modern history education reformation. “It was nice to meet teachers who have recently visited “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum in Dnipro. We were talking about the problems of war and the Holocaust, new programs and textbooks”, – noted the lecturer.

Students of the 11th grade of one of local schools had an opportunity to talk to Dr. Igor Shchupak. Future graduates participated in the lesson dedicated to the Holocaust history and issues of tolerance.

Junior school students took part in the lesson of tolerance conducted by Iryna Piskariova, Educational Programs Coordinator; while senior school students joined educational mobile exhibitions dedicated to the Holocaust presented by research associate Valentyn Rybalka.
