During April 16–18, guides training «Iwalk», organized by «Space of Tolerance» Kyiv Educational Center with the participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Dnipro Academy of Continuing Education and «Tkuma» Institute was held in Dnipro.
The «Iwalk» main purpose is the preparation of guides with a complete set of training blocks, workshops and multimedia, including a historical component – in particular, the history of Dnipro Jewish community during the Nazi occupation period. 16 school students from secondary school №15 and №62 participated in training. Peter Shmal, deputy general consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Donetsk (Dnipro office) opened the event with welcoming speech.
Each of the three days was full of interesting events, simulation of different situations during excursions, discussion in groups and so on. Anna Lenchovska, director of the center «Space of Tolerance» held a training block, and Oleksandra Kozorog, volunteer of «Iwalk» project held a practical part of classes. During the last day of the training students were able to spend their first tour in their lives of the city streets.
