PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On March 27, educational seminar for Polish and Ukrainian teachers «Holocaust studies in Ukraine for the formation the atmosphere of tolerance», organized by «Tkuma» Institute, Museum «Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine» together with State Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau finished it’s work. During several academic days educators had a rich and intensive program, in particular:

 -visiting of Dmytro Yavornytskyi National Historical Museum, where Polish teachers had the opportunity not only to get acquainted with the exhibitions, аbut also to find out how the topic of World War II and the Holocaust is reflected in the museum space;

- meeting with Dmytro Ivanov, Evhen Tytarenko, Natalia Khazan, members of the Diorama «Battle for the Dnipro» reconstruction team, guided tour at Diorama and acquaintance with the latest multimedia technologies, which were used during reconstruction it. We would like to thank sincerely to college-museum workers for their hospitality!

- meeting with Ukrainian history teachers and discussion on «How do we talk about «ins» «outs» tragedies?» Together with our long-standing and reliable partner from Zaporizhzhia Natalia Dordiyeva a group of teachers came to us, who spoke about their own experiences in teaching history of World War II and the Holocaust;

- practical lesson «Dnipro: traces of a multicultural city in World War II» (Valentyn Rybalka, researcher of «Tkuma» Institute held a guided tour) and « Topography of mass murder and memory of the Holocaust in the public space of the Ukrainian city: on example of Dnipro city» (Dr. Iehor Vradii held a guided tour);

- lecture-presentation by Dr. Igor Shchupak on «Those who return a person's faith. The rescue phenomenon during the Holocaust».

At the end of the seminar, the participants received an official certificates. And already on March 28, Polish colleagues visited Kyiv, where they had a guided tour «Multicultural Kyiv» and visit to Babyn Yar.
