On July 11, an educational visit to Zaporizhzhia as part of the program of the School of Young Guides HistoryLabs was conducted. The participants were given a city tour of the city by the Chairman of the Board of the Novytsky Zaporizhzhia Scientific Society, lecturer at the Faculty of History of Zaporizhzhia National University, Dr. Serhiy Bilivnenko. Together with the historian, future guides got acquainted with the history of Oleksandrivsk, learned about the Jewish past of the city and interfaith relations in the region.

And then there was a tour of the historical and cultural complex “Zaporizhzhia Sich”. Together with the head of the historical department of the Khortytsia National Reserve, Dr. Oleksandr Mirushchenko, the participants of HistoryLabs went on a journey through the Cossack Sich.

We truly thank our colleagues from Zaporizhzhia and all those who joined in organizing our visit!
