PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On January 27, on the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the premiere of the documentary “Holocaust. Documented crime” took place on the public TV channel “UA: Pershiy”. The filming took place in Kyiv, Odesa and Dnipro, in particular at Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”. Dr. Igor Shchupak and Dr. Yehor Vradii became scientific consultants and participants in the filming process.

The film is directed by Snizhana Potapchuk, owner of the title “National Hero of Ukraine”, who has made dozens of films about the war in eastern Ukraine. The film's editor is Yevhenia Podobna, winner of the Shevchenko Prize in 2020 for the book “Girls Cut Braids” (book of the memories of 25 women who took part in the hostilities in Donbass as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and volunteer units in 2014-2018).

The film was made by “UA:Suspilne” media group and it shows the fate of people during World War II and Nazi occupation of Ukraine. These people survived the ghetto and witnessed mass shootings in about 5,000 locations across Ukraine, according to researchers.

Each of the heroes lost loved ones – parents, brothers, sisters their beloved people. Everyone had the only task in these terrible years – to survive. The whole mosaic of terrible memories collected in the film is part of the story of survival.

You can watch the film on the official Youtube channel of  UA: Pershiy.
