PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On May 07, 2018, “Menorah” Center hosted special events, dedicated to the anniversary of the end of World War II and the victory over Nazi Germany. Celebrations in honor of World War II veterans were organized by charitable fund “Hesed Menachem” under the support of “Joint”.

The official part of the event began with the national anthems of Ukraine and Israel performed by the military orchestra of the National Guard of Ukraine. The veterans were warmly welcomed by Yoni Leifer, “Joint” Chairman of the Board in Eastern Ukraine, Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki, the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and region, Natali Nabitovski, head of “Sohnut-Ukraine” agency branch office in Ukraine, Anatolii Pleskachevskyi, director of “Hesed Menachem”, Oleksandr Danovich, member of the Supervisory Board of Dnipro Jewish community, Dr. Igor Shchupak, director of “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum, Solomon Flaks, chairman of the Council of Jewish Veterans. Oleksandr Fridkis, executive secretary of Jewish religious community, completed the official part by reading the memorial prayer for the fallen warriors and other victims of the war.

During the festive concert, the guests were listened to the performances by the choir “Goldene Meidelakh”, vocalists of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Philharmonic and participants of “Hesed Menachem” and Jewish Cultural Center “Solomonika”.
