PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

"Tkuma" Institute has experience in organization and conduction of educational events for school and university students, school teachers. In cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, regional institutes of advanced teacher training, "Tkuma" Institute organized special system of seminars for improvement of teachers' skills.

"Tkuma" Institute has unique experience in creating textbooks. School History textbooks created by "Tkuma" Institute won All-Ukrainian State Contests and were released in hundreds of thousands of copies.

"Tkuma" Institute effectively cooperates with regional office of Junior Academy of Sciences. On the base of "Tkuma" Institute winter and summer sessions of JAS are conducted. During this events school students have an opportunity to work with the Holocaust museum holdings, consult the Institute and Museum research associates and meet famous Ukrainian and foreign scholars.

During February 25 – March 4 Jerusalem (Israel) welcomed seminar for Ukrainian educators, organized by “Tkuma” Institute and Yad Vashem. The event gathered history teachers and scholars from Dnipro, Kyiv, Lviv, Kropyvnytskyi, Kryvyi Rih, Mykolaiev, Odesa, Rivne, Sumy, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv.

On February 22, 2018 the regular regional seminar organized by “Tkuma” Institute, the Holocaust Museum and Dnipro Academy of Continuing Education. Together with our partner and friend Liudmyla Bazylevska, teachers visited the Holocaust Museum (research associate Vladyslav Bazylevskyi conducted the guided tour), talked to the head of “Tkuma” Institute Educational Department Iryna Piskarova and Dr. Igor Shchupak, as well as received scholarly and methodological literature.

On February 06, 2018 Mykola Bulanyi and Valentyn Rybalka, “Tkuma” Institute staff, conducted educational session for secondary school №29 students of the 9th form (Dnipro). The lesson was devoted to the tragedy of the Roma people during the Second World War.

January 29–30, 2018 Dnipro welcomed All-Ukrainian Scholarly-Pedagogical seminar dedicated to International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The event was organized by Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies, Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”.

The seminar gathered teachers and history educators from all over Ukraine, scholars, methodologists of regional institutes of advanced teacher training, representatives of working groups on the improvement of school curricula on history.

January 25, 2018 Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” welcomed school students of specialized school #144 with in-depth study of Hebrew, the history of the Jewish people, Jewish traditions. Educational session, dedicated to International Holocaust Remembrance Day was held including thematic guided tour on the Catastrophe history by Dr. Iegor Vradii, Head of Research and Museum Department.
