PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On September 29, the All-Ukrainian online seminar “Culture of World War II Remembrance and the Holocaust” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Babyn Yar tragedy was held. The educational event was organized by teachers of the Department of Professional Pedagogy and Social Sciences and Humanities of the Flight Academy of the National Aviation University (Kropyvnytskyi).

The online seminar was moderated by a graduate student of the Flight Academy of NAU, history teacher Oleksandra Bykova, Dr. Kateryna Kryzhevska, Prof. Tatiana Plachinda. More than 50 scientific and pedagogical workers and applicants for higher education of the Flight Academy of NAU, Bohdan Khmelnytsky National Academy of Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Danube Institute of the National University “Odessa Maritime Academy”, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and others.

Scientists from “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” were invited to participate in this evrent. Dr. Yehor Vradii, Deputy Director for Research, made a report on the feat of the Righteous Among the Nations. They talked about the specifics of rescuing Jews during the Holocaust in Western and Eastern Europe, the motives of the rescuers, the peculiarities of awarding the title “Righteous Among the Nations”.
