PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On April 5, 2016 Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” welcomed pupils of the 10th grade of Zaporizhzhya Lyceum #99. The museum lesson was organized on the initiative of Lyceum History teacher Natalya Diordiyeva. The idea was supported by “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum.

On March 27, 2016 on the base of Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” museum lesson for pupils of Petrykivka School was conducted. Lesson on the Holocaust and World War II history was held by Dr. Iegor Vradii, the Holocaust museum Research Associate.

On February 23, 2016 Iryna Piskariova, “Tkuma” Institute Educational Programs Coordinator, and Lyudmyla Sandul, Research Associate, went to Kyslyanka village, where they held several educational events.

On February 26-28, 2016 Dnipropetrovsk hosted “Dnipro Open 2016” Debate Tournament carries out by “New Vision” NGO in partnership with “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies since 2019.

The project is designed for pupils and students and strengthens democratic values through interaction, collaboration and solving social problems. Traditionally the topics of Dnipropetrovsk open tournaments are associated with different aspects of democracy and human rights; such knowledge is certainly very important for every citizen. Within the project participants got acquainted with the international debate formats, improved their knowledge of democratic values, human rights and freedoms and learned how to interact effectively through the debate.

On February 5–6, 2016 Regional Stage of All-Ukrainian Contest and Defense of research works by pupils – members of Dnipropetrovsk department of Junior Academy of Sciences, “History” section, was conducted. Traditionally the defense was conducted on the base of O. Honchar Dnipropetrovsk National University. “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies has been the partner in the Contest for already two years.
