During November 01-04, the International Conference “Limmud” was held in Lviv. Dr. Igor Shchupak, director of “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” and Dr. Iegor Vradii, head of the Research Department of the Holocaust Museum, participated as presenters and held several lecture sessions for participants.
Among the issues that triggered lively discussion during interactive sessions – How do you see modern history textbook? What and how is it written about Jews in Ukrainian history books? How is the history textbook written (or constructed)? Will the ebook replace ‘paper” textbooks? Why does Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” tell about Armenians, Crimean Tatars, Poles, Roma, Ukrainians and Jews? and other, no less relevant issues.
During the “Limmud”, a joint presentation was held by Natalia Feduschak (Ukrainian-Jewish Encounter) and Igor Shchupak. During the session, the catalogue “Journey Through the Ukrainian-Jewish Encounter: From Antiquity to 1914” was presented.
