Review

Publication “Ukraine in the WWII: Inter-ethnic Relations (1941–1945)” is the continuation of the project “Unbridled Dissonance: The Second World War and Socio-Political Identities in Ukraine, 1939-1941” by Vladyslav Hrynevych.
The new book is devoted to the complex topic of interethnic relations in Ukraine during World War II. Continuing the review of controversial issues for Ukrainian and foreign historiography, the researcher focuses on the dynamics of changes in inter-ethnic relations against the background of the German-Soviet war in 1941 - 1945. The book is an attempt to reflect the whole palette of reactions of Ukrainian society on significant events and phenomena of this period: the Holocaust in the occupied territory of Ukraine and the attitude of the local population to the Nazi terror, the military catastrophe of the Red Army in 1941, features of evacuation and mobilization “in the Soviet way”, Stalin national policy during the war and after its completion. Special attention in payed to Babyn Yar and memory about it.The monograph would be interesting for historians, teachers and all those interested in the history of the Second World War, the Holocaust and ethnic relations.

The feature of the edition is that it is written based on a wide range of sources, many of which are introduced into scientific circulation for the first time.
