On September 06, working session of the Ukrainian-German Historical Commission was held at “Tkuma” Institute. Professors Martin Schulze Wessel (co-chair of the Commission), Guido Hausmann (both – Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich), Prof. 19. Jutta Scherrer (Higher School of Social Sciences, Paris), Dr. Kai Struve (Institute of History of Martin Luther University, Berlin), Prof. Yaroslav Hrytsak (co-chair of the Commission, Ukrainian Catholic University), Prof. Yuri Shapoval (The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine), Prof. Oleksandr Lysenko (Institute of History of Ukraine, The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine), Dr. Ricarda Vulpius (Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich)), Prof. Polina Barvinska (Odessa I.I.Mechnikov National University), Prof. Frank Sysin (University of Alberta, Canada), Dr. Igor Shchupak participated in the Commission’s work.

On September 04, the International conference for museum workers “Didactics of Historical Museums: Modern Teaching Methods for Critical Comprehension of History”, organized by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Office in Ukraine with the support of “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies started at the “Menorah” Center.

During August 19–20, “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies organized a search expedition to the Holocaust places in Dnipropetrovsk region. Together with Daniel Berler, American patron and Dr. Oleksandr Kruglov, historian, researchers of “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” visited several settlements in our area to find places of Jews extermination during the Holocaust and to record interviews with witnesses of those events and their children.

On August 08, we had the honor to welcome officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – participants of the methodological meeting that was held in Dnipro this week at “Tkuma: Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”. Questions of moral and psychological support for the actions of the Armed Forces in the course of fulfilling the tasks of counteracting of Russian aggression; improving the effectiveness of advocacy work etc. were discussed during the meeting.

On August 02, Corey Levin, (Canada) – member of the Canadian Observation Mission of early parliamentary elections in Ukraine visited “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies.
