On December 5-10, 2016 “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum Research Associate Valentyn Rybalka visited Uzhgorod. The visit was aimed at conducting scholarly consultations and search for artifacts for creation of exhibition “The Tragedy of Roma People: Past and Present” at the Holocaust Museum.
Research Associate held meetings with the head of the Roma program on Transcarpathian Regional Radio Eugenia Navrotska and Candidate of Historical Sciences Yuri Slavik. The main goal of the negotiations was to get information and material about the history of the Roma community in Ukraine and the genocide of the Roma during World War II, reach preliminary agreements on further cooperation within the framework of project.
During the visit to Uzhgorod Valentyn Rybalka was working with materials related to the Porajmos and Holocaust tragedies based in the funds the Uzhgorod Local History Museum.
