On April 7, another historical webinar organized by “Tkuma” Institute and “Orion” Center was held. Topic of the interactive educational event for educators was “How a history teacher should become friends with multimedia”.

Olena Burlaka, honored teacher of Ukraine, history teacher, deputy director of Horodyshchensʹkyy economical lyceum of Horodyshchens'ka district council of Cherkasy region, Nataliia Vlasova, teacher-methodologist, history teacher of municipal educational institution “Secondary School №15”, Iryna Piskarova, “Tkuma” Institute educational programs head, Dr. Igor Shchupak conducted the webinar.

During the webinar, the issues of multimedia technologies using during the history lessons, digital tools in education in general were discussed. The participants of the webinar presented to the listeners their own experience in this field – in particular, the use of games, puzzles during the lessons, a variety of multimedia information online platforms.

Particular attention was paid to the topic of the use of multimedia technologies during World War II and the Holocaust history studies. Dr. Igor Shchupak presented to the teachers how this topic is covered in the author's textbook for the 5th grade “Introduction to the history”, which contains a section dedicated to the memory of World War II. Except of the illustrations and well-structured text, QR codes are used to provide additional video viewing or task completion. In particular, the codes contain links to videos about Ukrainian rescuers – Righteous among the Nations, Oleksandr Shulzhenko and Omelyan Kovch – with the information about their feat during the Holocaust.
