On April 01, historical webinar, dedicated to new school textbooks for 7th grade: “HISTORY OF UKRAINE” and “WORLD HISTORY” was held. More than a thousand teachers from all regions of Ukraine became participants of the webinar organized by “Orion” Ukrainian educational publishing center (Kyiv) and “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies (Dnipro).
The following textbooks authors and editors conducted an educational event, which was broadcasted live on “Tkuma” Institute YouTube channel:
- Bohdan Bodnariuk, Ph. D., professor the history of the ancient world, middle ages and museum studies department of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University (Chernivtsi).
- Olena Burlaka, honored teacher of Ukraine, history teacher, deputy director of Horodyshchensʹkyy economical lyceum of Horodyshchens'ka district council of Cherkasy region; one of the best specialists in the implementation of multimedia in the history education in Ukraine. Co-author of history textbooks for 5-7 grades, winner of the All-Ukrainian Contest “Teacher of the year – 2016” in the nomination “History”, winner of the O. Zakharenko regional prize. (Cherkasy region).
- Nataliia Vlasova, teacher-methodologist, history teacher of municipal educational institution “Secondary School №15”; winner of Dnipropetrovsk oblast stage and medalist (ІІ place) of the Final of the All-Ukrainian Contest “Teacher of the year – 2016” in the nomination “History”, multiple winner of the Contest “Modern lesson” (Dnipro).
- Ihor Hyrych, Ph. D., head of department of the M. S. Hrushevsky Ukrainian Institute of Archeology and Source Studies of the NAS of Ukraine, ч corresponding member of the Ukrainian free academy of sciences (USA), full member of T. Shevchenko scientific society, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the higher school of Ukraine (Kyiv).
- Serhii Gromenko, candidate of historical sciences, observer of “Crimea. Realities” / “Radio Svoboda”. Author of 5 books on the history of Crimea, winner of the V International Jerzy Giedroyc Contest (2011), finalist of the All-Ukrainian rating “Book of the year 19” (Kyiv).
- Vitalii Dribnytsia, teacher-methodologist of the “Bila Tserkva humanities and pedagogical college”, specialist of the highest qualification category. Co-author of history books for 7-8 grades, the winner of the Kyiv regional stage and a graduate of the Final of the All-Ukrainian Contest “Teacher of the year-1998” in the nomination “History”, permanent member of the IV stage of the All-Ukrainian student Olympiad in history.
- Nataliia Ostrovska, candidate of science in social communications, associate professor of journalism of the Zaporizhzhia National Technical University, philological editor of historical publications of Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv publishing houses, (Zaporizhzhia).
- Vasyl Pavlov, head of the military history policy sector, department of military education, science, social and humanitarian policy of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, head of the NGO “Center of the military history”, co-author of educational programs “History of the Ukrainian army” (Kyiv).
- Iryna Piskarova, teacher-methodologist, head of “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies educational department; co-author of history textbooks for 5-7 grades.
- Iryna Rudenko, deputy editor of the “Orion”, winner of the State Prize in Science and Technology, honored surveyor of Ukraine, editor-cartographer for historical cartography (Kyiv).
- Igor Shchupak, Ph. D., honored educator of Ukraine;
During the webinar innovative methods and technologies used by the authors of textbooks to interest students in the history study were discussed.
