PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On June 05-06, International seminar for history teachers “The Holocaust by bullets in the occupied territories of the Soviet Union” was held in Paris (France). Yahad-In Unum (France), “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” were the organizers of the educational project.

The program of the seminar included lectures and practical lessons devoted to the Holocaust history in Ukraine, working methods with oral testimonies, archival documents, and video certificates. Dr. Yehor Vradii, deputy head of “Tkuma” Institute made a lecture dedicated to the history of the Dnepropetrovsk psychiatric hospital during World War II. Dr. Denys Shatalov, head of scientific department of the Holocaust Museum told about the peculiarities of preserving and displaying the memory of the Holocaust in the USSR.

Participants also had the opportunity to get acquainted with the educational, scientific and exploratory activities of Yahad-in Unum (headed by Catholic priest Patrick Dubois), as well as to visit the Shoah Memorial and the Mare, Jewish district.
