On May 22, 2018 pedagogical seminar for teachers of history was conducted within the framework of the project “Holocaust Studies in Ukraine for formation the atmosphere of tolerance”. Guided tour through Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” was conducted by Iryna Radchenko, “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies research Associate. She paid the attention of teachers at exhibition units devoted to the tragedies of the 20th c.: Ukrainian Holodomor, Jewish Holocaust, Roma genocide, deportation of Crimean Tatars. “There is no somebody else’s pain”, - this thought went through the entire tour.
Dr. Igor Shchupak, director of “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum, addressed teachers in further seminar work. He emphasized the importance of studying the topical themes of national and world history for the development of critical thinking, civic position. “History matters”, - noted І. Shchupak. Iryna Piskariova, head of the Educational Department, told how teachers and their students can join educational programs of “Tkuma” Institute.
