December 11-12, “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” researchers Dr. Olena Ishchenko and Maryna Strilchuk held educational classes for students from the International Children’s Center “Artek” (Puscha Voditsa, Kyiv region). Meeting with students took place at the initiative of the “Artek” history teacher Andrii Koshelnyk.
Students of the 9th and 11th grades learned about the history of the Holocaust in Ukraine. They talked about the introduction of racial theory in Nazi Germany, Nazi plans regarding Ukrainian territories, regional peculiarities of “the final solution of the Jewish question”. Particular attention was paid to the behavior of people during World War II and the feat of Righteous Among the Nations.
