PRESENTATION OF “TKUMA” INSTITUTE PUBLICATIONS  IN COOPERATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND SCIENCE OF UKRAINE

On September 30, 2015 Museum "Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine" conducted commemorative ceremony devoted to Babyn Yar victims.

Dilfuza Hlushchenko, "Tkuma" Institute Research Department Head; Jonathan Leifer, Chairman of the Board at Joint in Eastern Ukraine; Anatoly Pleskachevsky, Director of "Hesed Menachem" Foundation; Igor Romanov, Executive Director of the Association of Jewish Religious Communities of Dnipropetrovsk Region; Ester Takhterins, Journalist of "Shabbat Shalom" newspaper took floor at the ceremony. Reuven Milman read memorial prayer for the Holocaust victims. 

The ceremony ended with a moment of silence in memory of the six million Jews killed during the Holocaust.

On September 23-27 Ivano-Frankivsk hosted the 13 International MitOst Festival. MitOst is a German NGO that is interested in inter-cultural exchanges and development of civil society in Europe and neighboring regions. This is a kind of platform for dialogue between people of different nationalities, cultures and religions to exchange experience in various areas of society (from the current political situation in certain countries to the discussions of new trends in contemporary music).

During September 10-13, 2015 Lviv hosted 22 Book Forum - the most important and the most expected literary and cultural event in Ukraine. Traditionally, the goal of the Forum is to draw public attention to the most urgent problems of modern Ukrainian book publishing, as well as to support the tradition of professional discussions and seminars. More than 350 authors from 22 countries this year participated in the Forum. "Tkuma" Institute presented its recent publications as well.

September 16-21,  4 All-Ukrainian Museum Festival "Museum and Children: Children's Programs, Centers, Museums" will be held in Dnipropetrovsk. 83 museums, public organizations, publishers became the participants of festival and will compete in three traditional contests: The art museum exhibition - mini-exhibitions "The World of Childhood with the Language of Exhibits"; Museum editions - catalogues, albums, original editions and publishing projects dedicated to children and children's audience; Introduction of children's museum programs.

Presentation of mini-exhibitions and publications by the Holocaust Museum will be held on September 17 in Historical Museum: 16, Karl Marx Ave.

On September 8, 2015 within the framework of project "See Ukraine with Your Own Eyes" the group of young public activists from Russia visited "Tkuma" Institute and the Holocaust Museum. The project is organized by Russian Center "Image of Future" in cooperation with Internews Ukraine.
