On May 28, Serhii Levchenko – the son of Natalia Levchenko, Righteous among the Nations, Novomoskovsk natives, who during the Nazi occupation rescued from the death the Jew Leonid Golverk visited «Tkuma» Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies.

On May 27, Galina Ackerman, famous French writer, historian, columnist of «Politique Internationale» magazine and Rotary Club came to Dnipro at the invitation of Dnipropetrovsk regional state administration. Together with Olena Pavlowska, Rotary Club representative and Mykhail Kyslov, publisher (“Gerda” Publishing House) Dr. Igor Shchupak met Mrs. Galina. The writer visited “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum, which impressed her a lot; saw the “Menorah” Center and met with Shmuel Kaminetzki, chief rabbi of Dnipro and the region, chair of the Council of Rabbis of Ukraine.

International Museum Day traditionally falls on the third Saturday of May. The Jewish Museum on this day cannot work, that’s why we joined the celebration of the Museum Day on Sunday, May 19th.
May 19th – Victims of Political Repressions Remembrance Day. This date in Ukraine is a day of mourning. Also, the topic of political violence is an integral part of the of our Museum exhibition. The thematic focus of our Museum excludes the possibility of entertaining activities. That’s why, we offered to our visitors a number of interesting educational events to the International Museum Day.

On May 07, solemn events dedicated to the anniversary of World War II end and victory over Nazi Germany were held in “Menorah” Center. The holiday in honor of World War II veterans was organized by the charity foundation «Hesed Menachem» with the support of «Joint».
