On January 25, 2017 Iryna Piskariova, Iryna Radchenko and Vladyslav Bazylevskyi, “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum employees, together with participants of International Educational Seminar visited Petrykivka secondary school. “Tkuma” Institute educators conducted lesson for students of the 10th grade using mobile educational exhibitions dedicated to the Holocaust, heroism of Righteous Among the Nations and theoretical aspects of the crime of Genocide. Students actively participated in the discussion of these topics, showing particular interested to issues related to the teaching of the Holocaust in other countries.

Iryna Piskariova, “Tkuma” Institute Educational Programs Coordinator, held a special lesson on tolerance education for students of the 5th grade. As part of the lessons the children took part in training designed in the form of games: talk-reflection “Have you ever been offended?”, “Do you listed to others (classmates)?”, game to determine the other ethnic communities living in Ukraine (according to national clothes, dishes, religious buildings). The task to create “tree of tolerance’ caused special interest: each student had to write his definition of tolerance on a little piece of paper.

After the lessons participants of International Educational Seminar, “Tkuma” Institute staff together with school teachers visited Museum Petrykivka painting, where, in particular, took part in the workshop, traditionally held by museum masters.
