On June 07, meeting with Y. Petrovsky-Shtern (Northwestern University, Chicago, USA), historian, philologist, professor of Jewish studies was held at "Tkuma" Institute who presented his book «Shtetl. Golden Era of the Jewish town». In 2015, for this edition, professor was awarded with the US National Award for the best Jewish history book and Pulitzer Prize nominee.

In the book, the author redefines the social, economic and cultural history of the shtetl on the territory of Ukraine – that particular «town world», where in the late eighteenth century, in the first half of the nineteenth century, lived two thirds of the Jewish population of Central and Eastern Europe. During the meeting, all interested people had the opportunity to receive a book with the author’s signature.
