On February 12, the round table “Expansion of the historical pantheon and its boundary in the national idea context”, organized by the Center for the Studies of Political Values together with “Revival” International foundation supported by the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine and “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies, was held in Dnipro. During the discussion, which was very fruitful, participants talked about national heroes and not heroes, peacetime and wartime heroes. Which historical pantheon does Ukraine need? Can a hero of one people be an enemy for another one? Does the ethnocentric approach to the study of history have to be prevailing? How do historical myths influence on the formation of our historical pantheon? What kind of heroes do we have to crown in the city space and how this process should be done? How did Dnipro become the leader in the carrying out the process of decommunization? This is far from complete list of questions, which were discussed within the framework of the round table.

Full video of the discussion will be available soon.
